Wow, winter is gone and everything’s blooming.
That’s what 8-year-old Radomyr from Mykolaiv said when he stepped outside for the first time after spending a month in the hospital and undergoing two brain surgeries.
Radomyr is a cheerful, curious boy who wants to try everything – chess, karate, theatre, and cycling. However, life has dealt him more challenges than any child should face.
A long journey
The Russian full-scale invasion brought shelling to his hometown and forced evacuation to Poltava. A year later, his father, who volunteered for the army on the first day of the war, went missing. Now, Radomyr faces brain cancer.
Diagnosed in March, he has already undergone two surgeries and begun chemotherapy. There is still a long road ahead, but Radomyr and his mother remain hopeful, facing each challenge together.
Radomyr is one of 46 children across Ukraine receiving care through the Tabletochki Foundation, supported by ReliefAid. Our contributions provide medicines and medical supplies to Okhmatdyt, Ukraine’s largest children’s hospital, helping children fighting brain and spinal cord tumors.
Thanks to your support, children like Radomyr have hope for a healthy future, a future they can enjoy far beyond hospital walls.
