Ahmad’s Story

Homes once symbolising family and sanctity are now reduced to piles of rubble, with photo frames, belongings, and memories buried deep beneath the concrete.

For the majority of Gaza’s population, the reality of what was once home has been extinguished. Destruction in Gaza has practically left every house destroyed or unsafe to live in. It is estimated that the rubble caused by the war could take over 20 years to remove.

The communities that thousands have grown up in are almost unrecognisable. Homes once symbolising family and sanctity are now reduced to piles of rubble, with photo frames, belongings, and memories buried deep beneath the concrete.

An impossible situation

For our team member Ahmad, in Southern Gaza, this loss is his reality.

As Ahmad examines his now destroyed home, collapsed walls eliciting painful emotions, he reminds us of what home truly means:

Home is more than just walls…it’s the people, the memories, and the hope we carry forward.

As millions are forced to live in temporary shelters with inadequate access to necessities, it is the hope of a brighter future which carries communities forward.

With your support, we can make better days a reality for families in Gaza by distributing life-saving aid such as food and water.
